Where is yeast useful?

At school I am doing an experiment to see if the amount of sugar you add to yeast affects how quickly the yeast respires and I have to write 3 short paragraphs on who would find this experiment useful in the science industry but I am a bit stuck on the question, please can anyone help me answer this question?
