Why my assassin creed 2 game launder try to patches during launching and does not starts?

my assassin's creed 2 game does not start because it looks for internet connection and shows "patching, please wait". after that it shows patching failed but again the games does not start. i have tries re installing the game many times but it shows the same problem. please help.......
